BioShock PNG

BioShock is a first-person shooter video game franchise developed by Irrational Games studio, formerly 2K Boston/2K Australia and designed and directed by Ken Levine. The Bioshock series is generally considered a spiritual continuation of the System Shock series that many of the Irrational Games studio staff and Ken Levine personally worked on before.

The first game in the series, Bioshock, was developed for Windows and Xbox 360 systems and was released on August 21, 2007, in North America, and August 24, 2007, in Europe and Australia. The Playstation 3 version of the game, on the other hand, was developed by 2K Marin and was released worldwide on October 17, 2008, excluding America, and on October 21, 2008, in North America, with a few additional features. The game was later released for Mac OS X systems on October 7, 2009. Finally, the game was developed by IG Fun for mobile platforms. BioShock 2, the sequel to the series, was released on February 9, 2010. Developer Irrational Games announced BioShock Infinite, another game in the series, by publishing a trailer on August 12, 2010. BioShock Infinite was released on March 23, 2013. With the release of BioShock Infinite and selling 11 million copies as of May 2015, all games in the series have sold more than 25 million copies in total.
