Celtic art refers to the art of the La Tene period, which corresponds to the Second Iron Age in Europe. Traditionally, Celtic art was the first Iron Age culture in Central Europe, but in recent years it has begun to be performed in techniques where Hallstatt art and La Tene art have had only very limited influence.

Celtic culture spread east and west from 500 BC, centered on present-day southern Germany and eastern France, extending west to Ireland and the Iberian Peninsula, and from the Danube basin to the Balkan Peninsula and Asia Minor in the east. During this time he was in contact with Germanic tribes to the north and Scythian tribes to the east, but continued contact, exchange and conflict, especially with Greece and Rome in the south. Celtic art in general has a character that contrasts with Mediterranean art, and thus has been despised by the traditional view of art history based on classicism, but has become art in recent years. With the development of historical views and the increase in excavated material, it was reaffirmed that it had an important meaning to compete with Mediterranean art.
