There are different geographies in the world. Climate and temperatures are the leading factors that change these geographies. Deserts are just one of these geographies. So how did these deserts with little rainfall and plenty of sand form?
Formation of Deserts
The common feature of deserts is that they receive very little precipitation. Warm and moist air rises and moves towards the tropics. So the formation of deserts is dry air caused by high pressure. As it rises, the condensed air cools and descends at latitude 30 in both hemispheres. The air is then compressed and heated due to the pressure on it. Thus, the moisture holding capacity increases.
On average, these regions receive less than 200 mm of rain annually. Since there is cloudless weather over the desert, the sun's rays directly evaporate the water in the soil. At the same time, cold currents in the ocean and rain shadow are the factors that make up deserts.
