American Independence Day (English: Independence Day), or popularly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday celebrated annually in the United States to commemorate the American Declaration of Independence issued on July 4, 1776. Independence Day is often identified with fireworks, parades, festivals, barbecue parties, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games.

Also on the 4th of July, most places are decorated with American flags. The 13 stripes on the US Flag represent the 13 colonies that declared their independence. The 50 stars on the flag symbolize the 50 states of the USA.
