Akio Morita (1921-1999) is a founding member of Sony and was chosen by Time magazine as one of the most important businessmen of the 20th century. Born to a wealthy family in the city of Nagoya, Morita showed interest in machines and radios from an early age. Morita, who studied physics at the university, also took part in the construction of weapons that can detect heat during World War II.
