SpaceX Space services company is a private rocket and spacecraft company founded in 2002 by CEO and chief designer Elon Musk, co-founder and product developer of Tesla Inc. The launch industry worldwide because launch services are cheaper than most of their competitors. The entire company belongs to the management and its employees. SpaceX has close ties with NASA, including a $1.6 billion deal to supply cargo to the International Space Station and a $2.6 billion commercial contract with the agency to provide passenger services for US astronauts.

In 2013, the Grasshopper program was completed with a 744-metre flight, hover and landing.

In 2017, SpaceX conducted the world's first re-flight of an orbital-class rocket. After delivery of the payload, the Falcon 9 first stage returned to Earth for a second time. In 2018, SpaceX successfully tested the Falcon Heavy and then flew two of its spent boosters back to the Florida coast for a land rescue.
