The foundations of Superman's character were laid in 1933 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. When the character was first conceived, written down and published as fan fiction, the character was conceived as a bald-headed, telepathic supervillain with telepathic powers spelled "Super-Man," who wanted to dominate the world. In fact, the name of that story in which This Character took place was "The Reign of Super-Man".
But the character in this first issue never took off. He didn't appear again, he just inspired the character of Lex Luthor, who would become Superman's worst enemy in the future.
Later, Siegel and Shuster made the character more heroic. They named him Superman. They did not succeed in selling the first lead character. Their first meeting was with Tip Top Comics, which they had refused. But Siegel and Shuster continued to keep the character colorful and sci-fi. The character's name, Clark Kent, was created by combining the names of famous actors of the period, Clark Gable and Kent Taylor.
The Clark Kent look was based on another actor, Harold Floyd. The Superman Image was based on the youth of the actor named Douglas Fairbanks. However, we can say that Superman had a perfectly blended image after Christopher Reeve, the unforgettable actor of the famous Superman films of the late 1970s, much later. Eventually, the duo managed to sell this character and his story to Detective Comics (now known as DC Comics) before the end of the 1930s. DC Comics begins publishing Superman under the name Action Comics, a sub-branch.
