The first vacuum cleaner was a commercial dust removal machine, which was exhibited at an exhibition in London in 1898. This machine was collecting the dust that it blows with the air it blows in the metal box above it.
H. Cecil Booth worked on the dust removal machine and developed a new machine that sucks and filters dust. The machine Booth patented in 1901 was similar to a refrigerator and could only be used by two people.
Some of the machines used today, after throwing the dust into the chamber, give out the air they take without filtering, and they do not take the invisible parts such as cigarette ash, animal excrement residues and pollen. In both cases, the risk of asthma or allergic disease may occur.
The feature of antibacterial machines is that they have a HEPA (High Efficient Particle Arresting) filter. HEPA filters absorb 99.97 percent of particles up to 0.3 microns in size, such as cat hair and cigarette ash.
