Although it looks complicated, using a frog wrench is much easier than you think. Just below the spout is a threaded screw that adjusts the width of the spout. As this threaded mechanism is loosened, it moves the movable part outward, thus widening the mouth of the wrench. As you tighten the screw, the moving part moves towards the stationary part and the key's mouth gets smaller. Thus, by turning the manual adjustment screw on the wrench, you can adjust the wrench to the desired size by tightening or loosening the mouth of the wrench. In this way, you do not even need to know the size of the nut you will use, because the mouth of the wrench can be adjusted precisely. Apart from tightening and loosening nuts/bolts, they are also used for joining and removing pipes.
