One of the most used vehicles in road transportation is the bus.
The first buses in history are buses with a capacity of 8 passengers, known as "Carosses â cinq solz", which entered service in Paris in 1662. It was in the 1820s that these horse-drawn vehicles, which only the wealthy could ride, became widespread. These vehicles were initially put into operation under the name omnibus, which means for everyone in Latin.
Although the buses with a capacity of 22 people and pulled by 3 horses started to operate in London in 1829, they lost their importance with the development of trams and gasoline engines because they were polluted with horse droppings.
Considered to be the ancestor of today's passenger transportation, the vehicle is the steam passenger
bus built by Amédée Bollée in 1873. This bus, called L'Obéissante, had a speed of 40 km / h and a passenger capacity of 12 people. Thanks to its gear change feature, this bus, which can easily go up inclined slopes, was a great success in the technology of the time, but according to the law, it faced a fine because it was a crime to drive a vehicle that was not pulled by horses. Gasoline-engined buses, on the other hand, emerged in Germany in 1895 with a capacity of 8 passengers. The first gasoline-powered double-decker bus was used in London in 1904, and within 8 years it had completely replaced horse-drawn buses.
