Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, May 14, 1984, is an American computer programmer, entrepreneur and founder of the social networking site Facebook.
Mark Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York. He is the only son of Edward, a dentist father, and Karen, a psychiatrist mother.
Zuckerberg, who received many awards in various fields in high school, entered Harvard, one of the most prestigious universities in the USA, studied computer science there, and in his first year of university, he founded the facemash.com site, where the most handsome and most beautiful students of the school were selected. The site had photos of all the students at Harvard. But to find the photos, he had to dig into the university database. Zuckerberg, who turned out to have hacked the database, dropped out when he was disciplined.
He founded his second website, Facebook, to bring Harvard students together on the internet. When Facebook became one of the largest dating sites in the USA in 18 months (it has 1 billion users as of 2012), it attracted the attention of investors and formed the source of its $34 billion fortune today. Zuckerberg's Facebook was the 281st most valuable brand in the world in 2011 according to The Brand Finance Global 500 list.
