A razor, or kerchief, is a very sharp blade used for shaving that can be folded and closed. The process that keeps the razor sharp is called removing the blade. This is a very light sharpening process that is repeated before each use of the razor on a leather strap with a special paste applied to it. The sharpening process is done on the compressed felt and then the razor blade is taken and made ready for use. Today, these types of razors are replaced by the types fixed in the mouth from disposable razors.
