What is Sapphire Stone?

Sapphire is one of the most precious stones in the world. It is a type of mineral called Corundum. Especially the dark-colored ones are much rarer and considered much more valuable. How Are Sapphire Stones Formed?

Like all other stones, it is formed by natural processes. Many years must pass for the formation of sapphire stones, which have a crystalline structure. Ninety percent is found in rocks. If the rocks are basalt or schist, the probability of finding sapphires is much higher. However, these special stones are even harder and rarer than jewellery. It occurs not in small pieces, but in large masses. The largest sapphire in the world is located in India.

Properties of Sapphire Stone

Sapphire stone is used extensively in the most demanded jewelry and diamonds in the world. The outer surface is very hard and extremely shiny. It is sufficient to hold it underwater for a few minutes to clean it. It is formed by the combination of the element corundum and various oxides. Furthermore, it is used in various meditations to open the chakras, especially in the forehead area. Apart from blue, it can be in many different colors such as yellow, green and gray.
